The XPF is a high speed chip shooter and a multi-purpose mounter with multiple functions available. The XPF can also be used as a dispensing machine. By using the Dynamic head exchange which is the worldØs first automatic head exchange system while the machine is operating, it is now possible to setup a line using only one type of machine, the XPF, instead of using several different machines equipped with different functions.

For example, at a line setup with a high speed chip shooter and a multi-functional mounter, if the ratio of small parts is increased, a large improvement in the cycle time is not possible by using the multi-functional mounter to place some of the small parts to balance the line. Production does not increase by placing small parts using the multi-functional mounter.
However, the XPF can change at an instant from the high speed placing head to the multi-functional placing head during automatic operation. This optimized head configuration allows the machine to maintain a high level of productivity.

Two machine types are available depending on the combination of part supply units, the XPF-L, a multi-purpose machine, and the XPF-S, which is a space saving machine. There is a choice of two part supply units, a fixed type and a removable type. For the removable part supply unit type, there is a multi-feeder unit, multi-tray unit and the newly developed board tray unit.

XPF-L (Multi-purpose type)

The newly developed board tray unit supports wide tray types. The operator can resupply tray parts while the machine is performing automatic operation. Five types of trays with JEDEC standard sizes can be used with the unit and it is also possible to stack trays.
