Risk management

Establishment of risk management system

A risk and compliance committee presided over by the representative director is in place to adequately manage the risks which surround our business to support the arrangement of risk management systems for each department. Also, basic rules and regulations for risk management are set up from a company-wide perspective, and the risks which have potential to impede the managerial activities of each department are organizationally and systematically arranged and attended to so that risk occurrences are prevented and damages are kept to a minimum on the occasions that they do occur. Committees are established individually for risks related to the quality, environment, health and safety, and Cyber security, and they coordinate with each department to implement countermeasures for the prevention, avoidance, and management of these risks. In addition, the Internal Auditing Department audits the performance of duties by the subsidiaries as well as the subsidiary-inclusive compliance system and risk management system to ensure its appropriate operation, and reports the results to the representative director.

BCP(Business Continuity Plan)

Basic Policy

At our company, the Crisis Management Regulations serve as the basic policy, and we have established a framework to minimize the interruption of critical operations and to ensure early recovery and business continuity in the event of emergencies such as natural disasters, fires, or infectious disease outbreaks.

Recovery manual

We have developed a large-scale earthquake and fire response manual and an infection prevention and control manual, and are promoting company-wide initiatives aimed at ensuring employee safety, protecting assets, and maintaining and swiftly resuming business operations in the event of a disaster.

Safety confirmation system

We have introduced the SECOM Safety Confirmation Service for all employees, enabling us to quickly collect and share information on the safety of employees in the event of a major earthquake or large-scale disaster.
The safety information obtained is effectively used as a basis for decision-making in accordance with the response manual, supporting decisions that are directly linked to business continuity.
In order to enhance the effectiveness of this system, we conduct regular safety confirmation drills to ensure that employees are familiar with the system on a daily basis.

Disaster prevention framework

To ensure the effectiveness of our disaster prevention measures, we also conduct regular disaster drills organized by our in-house fire brigade, allowing employees to practice evacuation procedures, safety confirmation, and information sharing, and to develop the ability to act decisively in an emergency.
Furthermore, each factory holds a monthly Health and Safety Committee meeting to identify hazards and risks in the workplace based on safety and health patrols, and to discuss measures to prevent secondary disasters. This strengthens the system to minimize damage and enable early recovery in the event of a disaster.

Through these initiatives, Fuji Corporation emphasizes preparedness for disasters and emergencies, enhancing its organizational resilience.
We will continue to conduct regular reviews and training, and maintain and improve a robust system that adapts to evolving risk environments.

  • Strengthening BCP in the supply chain

Annual BCP survey in the supply chain

In pursuit of a sustainable society, we regard enhancing the resilience of not only our own operations but also the entire supply chain as a key priority. As part of this effort, we conduct an annual Supply Chain BCP Survey and work to establish a robust supply system through collaboration with our business partners.

On-site production survey, BCP checklist

In this survey, in addition to the analysis of production site distribution, we request our business partners to complete a BCP Checklist questionnaire in order to confirm the effectiveness of their preparedness for disasters and emergencies.

Request for remediation

The results of the questionnaire are scored, and if they fall below a certain standard, we distribute a BCP Formulation Guide to support improvement efforts. By encouraging our business partners to make autonomous corrections and reach the required level, we work collaboratively to enhance the overall business continuity capabilities of the supply chain.

Elevation survey

In fiscal 2024, we additionally conducted a survey of elevation above sea level to further capture disaster risks from a multidimensional perspective. Based on the survey results, we mapped areas located below five meters above sea level and strengthened our efforts to quantitatively assess water-related risks such as floods and storm surges.

Safety confirmation system

Furthermore, as part of our efforts to enhance safety and business continuity across the entire supply chain, we introduced a Safety Confirmation System for suppliers in March 2025.
In the event of a disaster,
・our Procurement Department confirms the safety status of supplier representatives, and
・by grasping the damage situation at suppliers’ factories and other facilities in real time, we promptly visualize risks within the supply chain and quickly carry out collaboration and support toward recovery.

Through these initiatives, FUJI Corporation has built a framework that enables stable supply even in times of disaster, thereby meeting the trust placed in us by society and our customers. At the same time, we are promoting sustainable business activities and striving to realize a resilient and sustainable supply chain.

Cyber security initiatives

We make group-wide efforts to comply with laws and regulations in various fields, including information security, product security, and the protection of personal information.
Specifically, a Cyber Security Committee has been established under the Risk Compliance Committee to formulate rules and regulations concerning security, as well as to control and manage security for the entire Group. In the unlikely event of a security incident, we will promptly report the incident to the relevant authorities through the Cyber Security Committee.
We also utilize security rating services to maintain and operate cybersecurity measures. (We are maintaining a grade A as of April 2024.)
