　Since its foundation as a machine tool manufacturer in 1959, Fuji has contributed to the development of society by introducing insertion machines and SMT pick and place machines to the world. Our mission is to continue to support the enrichment of people's lives all around the world. We are driven by our founding precept of "innovative spirit" and dedicate ourselves to our work with a strong desire to create world-firsts in new value and deliver products and services that surprise and inspire our customers. We are moving forward together with all of our stakeholders to achieve our mission.

 

　The macro environment is constantly changing, making it very difficult to predict the future. To enrich the lives of those in the world around us even under these circumstances, in fiscal 2024, we identified six societal issues to be addressed and defined their materialities as major issues and these fall into three categories that are closely connected to our business fields - "Manufacturing", "Lifestyle", and "Future" . With a focus on reaching our materialities goals, our initiatives to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by taking on the challenge of solving societal issues through leveraging our proprietary "Manufacturing" technologies, as well as open innovation in collaboration with external partners, are in line with our sustainability philosophy that supports sustainable growth for our company. Recent years have seen diverse social issues such as chronic labor shortages in the nursing and medical fields and last mile problems in the logistics industry, which are closely related to our "living." We have made sincere efforts to address such social challenges and have forged a path that may lead to solutions in some areas. We believe that placing sustainability at the heart of our management efforts will enhance our business portfolio and create synergies, expand our technological domain and knowledge, and strengthen our business competitiveness for "future."

 

　In terms of contributions to the preservation of the global environment, one of the most critical issues facing the world, in fiscal 2024 we set the long-term environmental targets of achieving carbon neutrality in the Group (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2050, and reducing CO₂ emissions in the supply chain (Scope 3) by 80% per unit of sales from the fiscal 2022 level. To achieve these targets, we will work to reduce emissions throughout our supply chain, while actively promoting steady activities to decarbonize our operations at each site and the development of environmentally friendly products.

 

　And we will also focus on the health, satisfaction and fulfillment of our employees, our most important management resource. Enhancing individual initiative, we believe, will allow all of our employees to demonstrate their capabilities to the fullest, take pride in their work, and thereby grow through their work. Their growth will in turn bring growth to Fuji, which will ultimately benefit the wider community, enriching the lives of people all around the world. We will create such a virtuous cycle and foster an organizational climate for continuous growth. Furthermore, in FY2025, the Fuji Group Human Rights Policy and Fuji Group Ethics and Compliance Policy were formulated in order to ensure all activities within the group are based on high ethical standards and a respect for human rights. In addition to promoting fairness and integrity in our business activities, we will strengthen our efforts to create a workplace environment that respects diversity and to address human rights on a global scale.

 

　Going forward, we will continue to strive toward resolution for problems shared by the international community through our business activities and engage in responsible dialog with our stakeholders to build solid relationships of trust, aiming to enhance corporate value while contributing to achieving a sustainable society.
