Inner Diameter Key Groove Machining
Fewer processes
This is a technique for machining key grooves in the inner diameter using a CNC lathe.
This allows for the efficient, centralized machining of key groove shapes in power transmission components, such as sprockets, using only a CNC lathe, without needing to use a separate machining system.
Technical details

After finishing the inner diameter by turning, the key grooves are machined using a dedicated key groove tool by feeding in the Z direction.
By repeating this feeding until the groove depths reach the specified value, the key grooves are formed while discharging the coarse, shaving-like chips.
- Note: Before machining, please ensure that the Z-axis torque of the machine is sufficient.
